Abstract

Logistics infrastructure plays a crucial role in fostering development and enhancing locations for economic activities. However, these efforts have predominantly focused on road transportation, neglecting other modes of transport. This study aimed to analyze the factors influencing the performance of logistics infrastructure. The study population comprised 41 registered logistics companies (Business List, 2023). Both primary and secondary data were employed, and a multi-stage sampling technique—including purposive, stratified, and simple random sampling—was employed. Descriptive and inferential methods were used for data analysis. Findings revealed a significant positive relationship between logistics infrastructure and regional development (r = 0.832) and between infrastructure investment and regional competitiveness (r = 0.814). Key factors influencing performance included supply chain visibility, automation adoption, planning and forecasting, warehouse management, efficient transport systems, skilled personnel, inventory reporting, driver shortages, and supply chain finance. The correlation coefficient (R) was 0.877, with an R² of 0.769. The study concluded that logistics infrastructure significantly enhances regional development and recommended prioritizing infrastructural projects to boost productivity.
