Rudolf Mock Award

From 2010 selected students’ presentation is recognized with the best presentation award. Contributions of students and PhD students presented in English are evaluated by the committee using the evaluation criteria.
In 2010 – 2012 the award was given by Galicia Tectonic Group. From 2013 Rudolf Mock award is given by Geological Club – named after Docent Rudolf Mock – 1943-1996; specialist on conodonts and professor at Comenius University, founder of Geological Club

The monetary award in 2017 is 100 EUR and the conference fee coverage for 18th ICYG in 2018.

Field trip & workshop


FIELD TRIP:
This year the field trip will take place in Bochnia Salt Mine, one of the oldest salt mines in Poland and in the whole Europe. Participants will see salt structures, mining techniques and fluorescent salt that was recently discoverd by prof. Maciej Manecki and his students. Click here for more info about Bochnia Salt Mine.

WORKSHOP:

This year workshop will take place underground in Bochnia Salt Mine where participants will learn how to make great geological photos in low light. They will be conducted by National Geographic photographer Adam Brzoza. Lear how to play with light and shadow, how to document those geological features that you always wanted! Bring home some amazing new work! Improve your photography in just one day!


Besides workshop underground on Saturday we will enjoy one more day of photography with Adam Brzoza on Sunday. We will learn how to capture details.

Adam Brzoza is an artist and photographer from Zakopane, passionate about mountains and nature. He is an author of extraordinary photos from all over the world (India, Nepal, Scandinavia, Europe). Adam Brzoza is National Geoographic Poland photographer, author of amazing photos from salt mine that were published in “Bochnia Salt Mine. History carved in salt”
